Granny's spurt

The Finnish o-league and Silja-rastit was my season start as usually. Unfortunately, I'm not in the shape I'm used to and the season start was a total nightmare for me. In fact, I was totally dead already in the beginning and I felt as if I was an old granny glimbing up and down the small hills. Okey, I became third, but I could just dream of my normal speed, so it was just total pushing all the time.

It's just so funny that if you're a top athlete you think so much of yourself that you even think that you're able to be at the same level as before even though you haven't been able to run competitions for 6 months and if you've been more or less ill for two or three weeks. Anyway, I'm one of those ridiculous ones and I have to admit that maybe it's just healthy that I wasn't able to win the game. So, I decided that once I'll stop orienteering I'll do it properly. It's so awfull when you're not feeling well and especially if you take it too seriously then.

But I'm not totally finished yet. The positive thing was that the easy course didn't give me too many extra troubles even though I had some stupid difficulties with one of the easiest controls. (I didn't rally find the emit-system from the control point... blind me;))HERE is my route too. And my knee was even more positive. I didn't even notice it during the competition. Adrenaline in the blood is such a relief! In fact, it hasn't been too painful in the evening either.

How does it go again...what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.. So I'll just have to count on that. I think I'll be able to rock my ass off in the woods sooner or later. Before that I'll just have to take it easy once again. USCHHH, how boring!
